TSWO History

In November 2007 a small group of Thunderbird owners met to discuss the idea of forming a chapter under Vintage Thunderbird Club International (VTCI).  In December 2007 a chapter petition was submitted to VTCI.  In January 2008 the club was officially chartered as a chapter of VTCI.  In February 2008 the Board of Directors applied for and was granted non-profit incorporation status by the state of Ohio to be known as the Thunderbirds of Southwest Ohio (TSWO).   Since then TSWO has functioned as a chapter chartered by and operating under the constitution and bylaws of VTCI and the TSWO chapter bylaws formally implemented in January 2008.

Purpose

TSWO is an incorporated non-profit organization whose purposes, similar to that of its parent organization -- VTCI --, are the preservation and enjoyment of all years of the Ford Thunderbird automobile, to promote interest in the hobby, to exchange and/or dispense technical, historical and other information relevant to the hobby among members and owners of such automobiles, and to offer to its members and interested parties, such publications relating to the hobby.
